About Harvard Cottage...

cottageHarvard Cottage, built in 1930, sits on the edge of beautiful Honeoye Lake in the heart of the stunning Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York. It was built by a schoolteacher from Rochester, NY, for her large extended family, and there is still an old schoolhouse bell right over the back door to call everyone to dinner!

The home is spacious and fully modernized with newer kitchen and bath, central air-conditioning and heat, comfortable furnishings and good traffic flow. It's an ideal place for families with children as well as a relaxing spot for couples or a small group of friends.

There is a spacious lawn, beautiful perennial gardens, pea-stone patio, decks, horseshoe pit, and lakeside campfire ring. The entire property is fenced in so it is perfect for keeping small children close at hand.

kitchenThe inviting light-filled kitchen is very well equipped for cooking and has a dishwasher, double sink and garbage disposal.

The dining area adjoins the kitchen and features a large maple dining table, which easily accommodates 6-8. The bathroom is near the kitchen and features a shower and Jacuzzi tub for long, luxurious soaks after a day on the water.

The living room is spacious and comfortable. It has areas for setting up a little mini-office as well as for watching TV, a movie, or listening to music. There is a full stereo system, DVD player, and 32" television. The sectional sofa opens into a double bed and there is also a fold- out double futon in this room. The living room opens to two decks at the front and side of the cottage. There are water views from every window and door.

Spring/Summer

BOATING • SWIMMING • FISHING • WINERY TOURING • FESTIVALS
Enjoy all spring and summer have to offer. Honeoye Lake offers some the best fishing in the Finger Lakes! Bring your own boat or rent one for the day or week from Trident Marina. Swim from the end of the dock or take a short drive to Sandy Bottom Beach for more fun. Enjoy a book lazing in a hammock under dappled shade. Tour some of the many area wineries and check out some of the activities offered in and around other nearby Finger Lakes. There are also a couple of wineries very nearby near Hemlock and Conesus Lakes along the Little Finger Lakes Wine Path. Find out more here.

Fall

LEAF PEEPING • HUNTING • FISHING • WINERIES • FESTIVALS
The colors of the changing leaves are especially beautiful in this part of the Finger Lakes! While you're out looking at the fall foliage, why not check out some of the nearby wineries surrounding Keuka and Canandaigua lakes? This is also a great time to tour nearby towns and villages, many offering fall harvest festivals. Be sure to check out theNaples Grape Festival (late September), a short drive south from the cottage.

Winter

SKIING • ICE FISHING • ICE SKATING • SLEDDING
Honeoye Lake freezes solid in the winter offering a variety of activities that many of the other FInger Lakes cannot (because they do NOT freeze over...).Ice fishing is very popular on this lake as well as ice boating and other wintertime activities. Downhill AND Cross Country skiing can also be found at Hunt Hollow Ski ResortandBristol Mountain Ski Resort (both less than 10 miles away!)
